Oakfield Capital was founded in 2008 by Roy Merritt and Michael Patton, set up initially as a vehicle to deploy the partners’ funds. Today we continue to invest our own money in every investment, aligning our interests with the high-net-worth individuals and institutions who invest alongside us.
Oakfield partners have over 50 years combined experience in private equity and have been instrumental in the growth of many successful companies.
Our strategy is to invest in a limited number of proven businesses that are often already profitable.
We seek out, through our direct network, businesses that have non-strategic owners, are underutilised or under invested.
We avoid new ventures, biotech and unproven technologies. We employ a low-leverage, operationally-led approach to private equity investment.
Our portfolio companies now employ over 250 people.
